Johnston Chorale seeking more singers

Do you sing in the shower? Have you ever secretly wished to be a rock star? Do you have any “inner ham?”
If so, the Johnston County Chorale has a deal for you!
The Chorale will start practicing January 15 for its spring concert — and this year, it is a mystery! Director Chris Watkins has been very secretive about the theme of this year’s show, but says “it’s something from the silver screen and music that everyone knows!’
Last year’s sold-out spring concert featured the music of Disney and showcased the groups talents in not only singing, but also dancing and comedy. The chorus was invited to Charleston, South Carolina for two acclaimed Christmas concerts, and opened the Christmas season at Dunn Center at North Carolina Wesleyan College. The conclusion of the 2006 season was the Holiday Festival, which featured a 30-piece orchestra, 85 children, a dance group from Virginia, and Santa!
Rehearsals start Monday, January 15 at 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Smithfield, but new singers are welcome until the end of January. New members are requested to arrive at 6:30 p.m. Registration is $30, which covers the cost of music. No auditions are necessary – just bring a desire to sing and have a great time.
For more information call Chris Watkins at (252) 234-6270 or Kerry Voll at 919-934-4687.
