MARK WOODARD
Mark Woodard, age 87, of Goldsboro, passed away Monday, January 15 at home.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, January 17 at Princeton Cemetery in Princeton. Pastor Lotis Joyner officiated.
Mr. Woodard was born in Johnston County on July 8, 1919 to the late Cyrus and Nina Woodard. Mr. Woodard was a veteran of the United States Army where he served in World War II. He also served during battles and campaigns including Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. He received several decorations including Eamet Campaign Medal with five bronze stars and the American Defense Service Medal. He was a member of the Woodman of the World and the VFW. He was retired from Wayne County School Bus Garage.
He is survived by his wife, Myrtle L. Woodard; one son, Jerry M. Woodard and his wife, Lisa, of Greenville; one brother, Issac Woodard of Princeton; and two sisters, Nina Wadsworth and her husband, Carl, of Goldsboro and Lettie Smart of Princeton.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Woodard was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.

BOBBY EDGAR NEWCOMB
Bobby Edgar Newcomb, 67, of Smithfield, died Friday, January 19 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. He was born November 8, 1939 to the late Willie Edgar Newcomb and Ruth Price Newcomb Edwards.
A graveside service was conducted Monday, January 22 at the Princeton Cemetery with Reverend Wayne White officiating.
He is survived by: his wife: Joan Mozingo Newcomb; a daughter: Barbara Denise Hooks of Pinetops; stepson Randy Radford of Morehead City; stepdaughter Kathy Thornton of Princeton; brother Ralph Newcomb of Raleigh; two grandsons, three step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
