The Bulldawg Booster Club is holding their annual fundraiser golf tournament this Friday at Cardinal Country Club. There will be a 1 p.m. shotgun start, and refreshments and a cookout will follow the 4-man Superball Format tournament. Cost to play is $45 per man. Red tees are available at $5 each, with a limit of four per team. 65 & older will hit from the senior tees. Prizes will be posted for 1st, 2nd and closest to the pin. Must play with shirt with collar and soft spikes. Sponsorships are still available at $100 per hole. Proceeds will benefit the Princeton High School sports department.


The Mills family will be at Johnston Community Church, 450 Janie Rd., Selma, for their revival on Saturday, April 28 beginning at 7 p.m., Sunday morning, April 29, beginning at 10:30 a.m., and Sunday evening beginning at 6 p.m.


The Arboretum at Johnston Community College is gearing up for its annual fundraiser Plant Sale-A-Bration on Saturday, April 21. Selections of herbs, annuals, vegetables, and more will be for sale from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. While at the Arboretum, indulge yourself with a chair massage from the massage therapy students and admire and take home works of art from the JCC photography, pottery, and art students. Wayne Community College Continuing Education will hold a free seminar on new Microsoft computer software on Saturday, April 28. The session is set for 9 a.m. to noon in Room 101 of the Walnut Building on the college’s main campus in Goldsboro. The computer programs to be discussed in the seminar are Microsoft Office Professional 2007 and Windows Vista. Refreshments will be served.

New and returning students who plan to attend Wayne Community College for the fall 2007 semester may apply for Foundation of Wayne Community College scholarships through the end of April.
Scholarship applications are available in the Foundation office in the Dogwood Building on the college’s main campus in Goldsboro and or can be printed from the Foundation’s section of the WCC website at www.waynecc.edu.

Students seeking Foundation scholarships are required to apply for federal financial aid, and can do so online at www.fafsa.ed.gov or obtain materials from the WCC financial aid office. Contact the Foundation or financial aid office at (919) 735-5151 for more information.


A Community CPR and First Aid training class will be held on May 5 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The course is open to anyone who needs job-related or personal CPR training. Registration and prepayment are due by April 30 at the American Red Cross, 801 S. Third Street, Smithfield. Space is limited to 10 people per class. Rosewood Middle School is hosting a bluegrass concert at the school gym on Saturday, April 21 at 7 p.m. Three different bluegrass bands will be featured, and concessions will be available.
