ECU, WCC partner for teacher ed degree

3 May 2007

The ECU teacher education program at WCC is accepting applications for its next bachelor’s degree cohorts.

ECU Wachovia Partnership East South Central Consortium applications are due now for the elementary education cohort that will begin in August. They are available from Dr. Debbie Hall Grady, hub site coordinator, at the WCC office in Room 102 of the Dogwood Building, or by contacting her at gradyde@waynecc.edu or (919) 735-5151, ext. 385.

Classes begin in January 2008 for a new special education-general curriculum online cohort through the Wachovia Partnership East Virtual Consortium. Applications are due Oct. 1 for that degree program, which will be delivered totally online with required annual face to face sessions at a location to be determined.

Applicants interested in the online programs can contact Dr. Grady or Virtual Consortium Coordinator Paula Hopper, at phopper@email.pittcc.edu or (252) 492-7659 for more information.

The consortium program, started at WCC in 2004, enables students from Johnston, Sampson, and Wayne community colleges, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, and the local school systems in Johnston, Sampson, and Wayne counties to earn ECU bachelor’s degrees in education without going to Greenville. Students complete their general education coursework at one of the partnering community colleges and then transfer into the ECU program.Classes are taught by ECU faculty at the hub site community college in Goldsboro and through the Internet.
