KEN BARFIELD
Kendall Edward “Ken” Barfield, 43, of Goldsboro, died Thursday, April 26 at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
He was born in Wayne County on September 25, 1963 to Melvin Edward Barfield of Seven Springs and the late Ida Blizzard Barfield.
Funeral was Sunday evening, April 29, at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Randall Barfield and Warren Barfield officiating.
Interment was Monday morning, April 30, at Wayne Memorial Park, with the Rev. Tom Dorman officiating.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his stepmother, Mary Lou Barfield; his sisters, Chalady Barfield of Seven Springs, Kathy Radcliff of Rosewood and Vickie McLamb of Garner; his brother, Dusty Barfield of Seven Springs; two nieces; one nephew; and several aunts and uncles.
Memorials may be made in his memory to help with expenses.
MARGARET S. BRASWELL
Margaret Lee Starling Braswell, 80, died Wednesday morning, April 25, in Smithfield Manor.
Born January 9, 1927 in Johnston County, she was a daughter of the late Milford and Alma Hinnant.
Starling and was preceded in death by her husband, Cleveland O. Braswell, who died February 7, 2002, and three brothers, A. B. Starling, Bobby Starling and Durwood Starling. She was a member of the Bizzell Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church and was retired from the Eaton Corporation in Selma.
Funeral services were conducted Friday morning, April 27, in the Bizzell Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Marcus Riggs and the Rev. Dwight Dunning officiating. Burial followed in the Bizzell Grove Memorial Gardens.
Surviving are her daughters, Diane Allen and Carol Butts both of Princeton, brothers, Avery Starling of West Jefferson and Worth Starling of Wilson, sisters, Agnes Bizzell of Four Oaks and Marie Spivey of Princeton, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bizzell Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church Building Fund, 4700 Bizzell Grove Church Road, Princeton, NC 27569.

JESSE E. CREECH
Jesse Earl Creech, 76, of Four Oaks, died Friday evening, April 27, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
He was born August 7, 1930 and was the son of the late James Robert and Fannie Lamb Creech. He was a retired farmer and sold subscriptions for the Smithfield Herald for 20 years.
The funeral service was conducted Sunday evening, April 29, at the Casey Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Dennis Pollock officiating. The committal service was Monday afternoon, April 30, at the Creech Family Cemetery near Pine Level.
He is survived by his wife, Betty King Creech; two sons, Curtis Creech of Four Oaks and David Creech of Four Oaks; a daughter, Janice Creech Hughes of Mt. Olive; a brother, Marvin Creech of Grantham; and one grandson.
JANICE R. TEDDER
Janice Raynor Tedder, 70, of Grifton, died Saturday, April 28 at Pitt Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Johnston County on September 13, 1936 and was the daughter of the late Cap and Tempie Coats Raynor. She was also preceded in death by a son, Gordon Wayne Tedder, and two brothers Lawden and David Raynor. She retired from DuPont after 32 years of service and was a member of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
The funeral service will be conducted today (May 2) at 2 p.m. at the Casey Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Gene Britt officiating. Burial will follow in the Overbee Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Roy Capps; a son, James Tedder of Farmville; and two daughters, Melanie T. Arnold of Chocowinity and Jewell T. Grimes of Grifton.
The family received friends on Tuesday evening, May 1, from 7-9 p.m. at Casey Funeral Home in Princeton.
