Parker K’s 13 against W-RH

24 May 2007 — Strong pitching has been a hallmark of the Princeton Varsity Baseball team’s success this season. Still, it’s hard to remember a more dominating performance at a more important time.

Colin Parker struck out 13, only walked two and gave up a single hit as the Princeton Bulldogs advanced past Wallace-Rose Hill in the second round of the 1-A playoffs last Tuesday, 5-0.

PHS finally got the offense cranking in the third, as Jared McLamb doubled home Dustin Pate. McLamb cam home on one of Wallace-Rose Hill’s three errors.

Adam Nethercutt reached base in the fourth, going to second on a two-base throwing error. He went to third on a wild pitch, and came home on Andrew Cobb’s sacrifice fly. Pate followed Cobb with his eighth homer of the year to make it 4-0 PHS.

Parker and Michael Radford each doubled in the sixth to bring home Parker with a fifth Princeton run.

Princeton Coach Bruce Proctor praised his pitcher after the game, saying he threw seven great innings of baseball.
