LOUISE T. WEEKS
Louise Thigpen Weeks, 84, of Mount Olive, died Wednesday, June 20.
Born April 22, 1923, she was daughter of the late Willie and Ethel Smith Weeks and widow of the late Melvin Weeks.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Friday) in the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Watkins and the Rev. Bill Hooper officiating. Burial will be in Calypso Cemetery.
She is survived by two sons, Ray Weeks and wife, Sandra, of Grantham and Melvin B. Weeks and wife, Elleze, of Goldsboro; five daughters, Joyce Gardner and husband, Jimmy, of Calypso, Glenda Rowe of Princeton, Annette Sutton of Goldsboro, Mattie Thompson and husband, Richard, of Goldsboro, and Sue Brill and husband, Tony, of Holly Ridge; one sister, Kathleen Garris and husband, Jack, of Goldsboro; 23 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by brothers, Rodney, Demion, Marvin, and Billy Weeks, and sisters, Ruth Hudson, Naomi McCullen and Inez Harrell.
TERESA S. ARTIS
Teresa S. Artis, 55, of Goldsboro, died Friday, June 8 at Wayne Memorial Hospital. 
The Princeton native was the daughter of the late Isaac and Ethel Mae Sutton.
She is survived by one son, Christopher Ivory Artis; two daughters, Tonna Latoria Artis of Virginia and Donna Carol Artis of Dudley; two grandchildren, X’Zavier and Kadiah Atkinson; five sisters, Thelma Barfield of Bronx, N.Y., Rosa Thompson of Goldsboro, Sandra Sykes of Princeton, Hattie Montague of Wilson, and Dorothy Loretta of Stantonsburg; two brothers, Jasper Spruill of Smithfield, and Climmie “Hoss” Hillard of Princeton; a very special friend, Purnell Lane of Pikeville; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
The funeral was held Thursday afternoon at Gospel Tabernacle Church of Deliverance, Goldsboro, with Bishop C.B. Richardson officiating. Burial was in Selma Memorial Garden.
E.B. HOLLOMAN
E. B. Holloman, 68, of Dudley, died Sunday morning, June 10, at his residence.
Born in Duplin County on April 24, 1939, he was the son of the late Emmett of Duplin County and Thelma B. Holloman of Goldsboro. Mr. Holloman had been employed with Bobby Rex Kornegay Surveyors for more than 32 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by two children, Sandra Crawford of Mesa, Ariz., and David Holloman of Arizona; one brother, William Holloman and wife, Betty, of Dudley; four sisters, Jean Brown of Pikeville, Pat Toler and husband, J.B., of Rosewood, Judy Utley of Swansboro, Shelby Krafft and husband, Bob, of Baltimore, Md.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family received friends Wednesday evening at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.

VERNON P. LEWIS
Vernon Paul Lewis, 63, of Morehead City, died Wednesday, June 13, at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
He was a son of the late Vernon and Ada Lewis.
A memorial service was held Saturday afternoon, June 16, at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City. The Rev. James Dunn officiated.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Lewis; a daughter, Kimberly Lee Hill of Smithfield; a stepdaughter, Trudy Elizabeth Talton of Kenly; a son, Sherwood Lewis of Morehead City; a stepson, Richie Talton of Clayton; three sisters, Frances Woodard and Gladys Kincaid, both of Princeton, and Kathy Greene of Smithfield; two brothers, Mac Arthur Lewis and Herman Ray Lewis, both of Smithfield; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

DORIS M. SHIPTON
Doris Mason Bridgers Shipton, 72, formerly of Goldsboro, passed away Wednesday, June 13 at her home in Lugoff, S.C.
She was born in Wayne County on March 30, 1935 to the late Bert and Esther Etheridge Mason and was married to Donald Shipton. While living in Goldsboro, she worked as a floral designer for several local florists.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Ruby Ryan.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 23, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. The Rev. Michael Coppock will be officiating. Family members will be receiving friends immediately following the memorial service.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Robert Allen and Becky Bridgers of Dudley; one stepdaughter and son-in-law, Kimberley and Robert Hoffman of Sharon, S.C.; three brothers, John Mason of Princeton and Roy Mason and Paul Mason, both of Goldsboro; two sisters, Geraldine Barfield of Goldsboro and Viola Pate of Kinston; two grandchildren, Brandi Talton and Robert Allen Bridgers Jr.; and one step-granddaughter, Kasey Hoffman.
