Bulldogs hope to mix it up as offense improves
By Barry Merrill
NL Publisher
22 August 2007 — The Princeton offense will try to mix it up some this year with a balance of running and passing, one back set, four wide outs, and some I-formation.

Much of the responsibility for making the offense go will fall on sophomore Dylan Myers, who moves up from the JV team to quarterback the varsity this fall. Head Football Coach Russell Williamson says Myers did well on the JV level and he expects once he makes the adjustment to the speed of the game on the varsity level, he will do well.
He also points to the fact that Myers has big legs that give him scrambling ability to help the offense.
Running behind Myers will be seniors Will Gainey and Michael Radford. In a couple of weeks, look for Kwame Corprew, a junior, to get into the lineup at running back. He’s coming off an injury.
When the Bulldogs go to the air, look for them to get the ball to sophomore Dillon Daughtry, sophomore twins Phillip and Luke Mitchell, sophomore T.J. Wilson, and senior Cameron White.
The two tight ends for the Princeton offense will be starters Matt Williamson, another soph, and Nathan Pearson, a junior.
Across the offensive line, sophomore Wesley Thompson will start at center, soph Chris Hill will hold down one guard spot, while junior Randy Deaver will start at the other guard. Junior Matt Stewart will start at one tackle, and senior Daniel Gurley will hold down the other one.
Junior Codie McConnell and senior Chris Hinton will see a lot of time helping the starters get a rest.
Sophomore Cameron Braswell is coming off some surgery and should see plenty of playing time once the doctors release him.
The Princeton offense will be a work in progress for much of the year as players get more time and confidence in their roles.
