ECU online degree program

29 August 2007 — East Carolina University’s online teacher education program is accepting applications for its next bachelor’s degree cohort in special education.

ECU Wachovia Partnership East Virtual Consortium applications are due by Oct. 1 for the special education - general curriculum cohort that will begin in January 2008. They are available from Dr. Debbie Hall Grady, hub site coordinator for the South Central Consortium, at her Wayne Community College office in Room 102 of the Dogwood Building, or by contacting her at gradyde@waynecc.edu or (919) 735-5152, ext. 385.

The Virtual Consortium will offer a middle grades education cohort with English and science concentrations beginning in May 2008. Applications for that program are due January 1, 2008.

The Virtual Consortium program enables students to complete their general education coursework at Wayne Community College or one of the other partnering community colleges and then transfer into the ECU program to complete their junior and senior years online with a few annual face-to-face sessions.

The cohort model allows a group of students to move through the degree program together, taking six to nine hours per term until the final year, which involves a full-time internship.

Additional Wachovia Partnership East information can be found at www.ecu.edu/cs-educ/partner_east/index.cfm.
