Barnes, Smith wed at Church of God

8 August 2007 — Elisabeth Leigh Barnes and Aaron Matthew Smith were married August 4, 2007 at 2 p.m. at the Princeton Church of God, with Reverend J. LaVon Phillips officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Jones of Princeton and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Barnes of Wilson. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Milford P. Curtis of Land O Lakes, Florida, Mr. and Mrs. Sammy Barnes of Wilson, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ellison of Lucama. She attends Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee, and is majoring in Spanish.

The groom is the son of Mr. Ed Smith of Springville, Alabama, and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Todd of Springville. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John Davis of Birmingham, Alabama. He attends Lee University, and is majoring in Youth Ministry.

Escorted and given away by her father, the bride wore a diamond-white gown with an empire waist, sheer straps, and a chapel-length train.

Tracey R. Phillips of Princeton was her cousin’s matron of honor. She wore a gown of black chiffon.

Bridesmaids were Cindy Parrish of Princeton, friend of the bride; Emily Hall of Smithfield, friend of the bride; Mary Catherine Lloyd of Louisburg, cousin of the bride, and Alix Todd of Springville, AL, sister of the groom.

Mr. Ed Smith was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Adam Smith of Springville, brother of the groom; Jesse Fletcher of Grasonville, MD, friend of the groom; David Galibraith of Trussville, AL, friend of the groom; and Christopher Barnes of Wilson, brother of the bride.

Miss Charis Huey of Acworth, GA was flower girl. Mr. Eli Huey of Acworth, GA was ring bearer. Anthony Jones of Princeton was banner bearer.

The church was decorated in stargazer lilies, fire and ice roses, and greenery.

The wedding was directed by Amy S. Zieverink of Princeton. A program of wedding music was given by pianist Mr. Phillip Huffman of Princeton, soloist Mrs. Donna Jones of Princeton, and saxophonist Jesse Fletcher of Grasonville, Maryland.

After a wedding trip to the Dominican Republic, the couple will reside in Cleveland, TN.
