Midway undermines 'Dawg defense
12 September 2007 — Princeton showed some fight against an undefeated Midway squad Friday night, putting some points up against the Raiders, but couldn’t keep up in the 36-7 loss.

The Bulldogs fell behind early, 14-0, but struck for their only TD early in the second quarter on an eight-yard pass between brothers, Dylan Myers to Benton Myers.
Reached Monday, Princeton Coach Russell Williamson felt good about his defense. After giving up two touchdowns on short fields caused by first quarter turnovers, the Bulldogs played fairly well against the strong Raider squad.

While the numbers of turnovers were down, they continue to be the coach’s major concern.
Benton Myers also led the running attack with 26-yards on three attempts. Kevin Foy added 24 yards in 17 attempts.

Coach also offered some praise to his quarterback. At one point late in the game Dylan Myers had connected on six-of-ten attempts. In addition to the TD, he gave up an interception. “Dylan had his best game thus far,” Coach Williamson said Monday.
His longest completion was to Will Gainey for 25 yards, a nice catch the coach said.

On defense, Patrick Jacobs had an interception, and Chris Hill caused a Midway fumble.
The Bulldogs draw an open date this Friday, and took Monday off. They will be followed by three hard days of practice, as they continue to work on offensive line blocking and cutting down turnovers even more. It also will give them a chance to heal from the normal football bumps and bruises, but Coach Williamson said no one has sustained any serious injuries.
Princeton travels to Franklinton on Sept. 21.
