Junior Leadership Johnston program

19 September 2007 — Johnston Community College hosted Junior Leadership Johnston County in June. 2007 marked the fourth group of rising high school juniors representing each of the county’s public high schools and Johnston Christian Academy.
Participants experienced five days of learning about Johnston County in the areas of business and industry, government and public safety, healthcare and non-profits, education, and tourism and environment. The participants will be meeting once a month throughout the school year to discuss school issues and learn more leadership qualities. The program is sponsored by Progress Energy and Time Warner Cable.
The deadline to apply for next year's program will be in February of 2008. Applicants must be a sophomore with at least a B average and possess leadership qualities and an interest to learn more about Johnston County. For more information contact Joy Callahan, program advisor, at 209-2027.
