Lady Bulldogs 'kill' their competition

19 September 2007 — The Princeton volleyball team finished off a successful, if not demanding, week with a easy win over Goldsboro Monday.

The Lady Bulldogs won in three straight games over Goldsboro, after successfully facing elimination in three matches last week.

Ashley Braswell led Princeton with eight aces and a kill. Amber Wood added four kills and six assists. Annamikel Bridgers had five aces.

Last Monday Princeton took the first two games against Union, but the Lady Spartans fought back to take the next two games. The Lady Bulldogs narrowly prevailed, 16-14 in the final game.

Devon Murphy led Princeton with seven aces, five kills and seven digs. Braswell had six aces and ten kills, and Wood had four aces, one kill, and 18 assists.

Last Tuesday the Lady Bulldogs dropped the first two games to Spring Creek, but roared back with three straight wins, including a 15-10 clincher.

Murphy, Braswell and Wood again paced Princeton. Murphy had four aces, ten kills and eight digs. Braswell added three aces, eight kills and seven digs. Wood had two aces, one dig and 17 assists.

Thursday, Princeton took the first game and third game, before clinching against North Duplin with a 15-11 finale.

Braswell had ten aces, seven kills and one assist. Murphy had two aces, six kills and three digs. Wood added five aces, one kill and 19 assists.

Princeton is back into conference play this week at North Johnston Tuesday and hosting Ayden-Grifton Thursday. Both matches are scheduled to start at 4:30.
