GLADYS S. DAVIS

Gladys Strickland Davis, 80, formerly of Princeton, died Friday evening, October 5, at the Brian Center in Clayton.

She was born in Johnston County on March 21, 1927, and was the daughter of the late Hunter and Lula Moore Strickland. She was the widow of Emmitt Davis.

Graveside services were held Monday morning, October 8, at the Hephzibah Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Gene Britt officiating.

Mrs. Davis is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Bobby Snipes of Calabash; two brothers, Lloyd Strickland of Raleigh and Rudolph Strickland of Lexington; and two grandchildren.

The family suggests contributions be made to Hephzibah Baptist Church.

The family is being served by Casey Funeral Home in Princeton.

ROBERT L. HOLLOMAN

Robert Lee Holloman, 86, of Princeton, died Wednesday, October 10 at his home.

He was born on May 9, 1921, the son of the late Fred and Savanna Broughton Holloman.

The funeral service was held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 11 at Casey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rose Hicks officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery on Friday morning, October 12, at 11 a.m.

He is survived by his wife, Norma "Peggy" Jones Holloman; sons and daughter- in-law, Rudy Lee and Sherry Holloman of Princeton, Tony Robert Holloman of Greeneville, Tenn.; sister, Bessie Strickland of Princeton; step-sister, Ruby Davis of Smithfield; step-brother, Thurman Holloman of Florida; grandchildren, Brian Holloman, Scott Holloman, Kaitlyn Holloman and Cody Egelston.

The family is being served by Casey Funeral Home in Princeton.

 

DARRELL SMITH

Lenwood Darrell Smith, 81, of Princeton, died Monday, October 8 at his home.

He was born on October 16, 1925, the son of the late Leonard Dexton Smith and Melissa Ellis Smith.

The funeral service was held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9 at Casey Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Alan Strickland officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery on Wednesday morning, October 10, at 11 a.m.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Best Smith; three daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda Smith-Frazier of Princeton, Debbie Smith and Charles D. Worley of Princeton, Lisa Smith and Paul Matthews of Murrell's Inlet, S.C.; one sister, Emmalyn Smith Harris of Wilmington; grandchildren and their spouses, Jason and Christy Frazier, Jarrett and Apryl Frazier, Angela and Ashley Rains, Amber and Carl Russell, Charley Worley, Taylor Matthews and Justin Matthews; three great-grandsons, Brayden Rains, Braxton Rains, Davis Frazier; one great-granddaughter, Reagan Frazier; and special friends, Ralph and Jo Fail.

The family suggests that contributions may be made to Community Home Care and Hospice, 1201 C Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C. 27530.

The family is being served by Casey Funeral Home in Princeton.

 

TOMMY L. VANIER

Tommy L. Vanier, 55, of Clayton, died Wednesday, September 26.

The funeral was held at 2 p,m. Saturday, September 29 at McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton. The Rev. Danny Creech officiated. Burial followed in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.

Surviving are his son, Joshua Adams of Pine Level; his mother, Addie Vanier of Clayton; a sister, Betty Vanier of Kenly; and a grandson.

The family suggests donations to help with funeral expenses. Donations may be mailed to Betty Vanier, 11785 N.C. 42 East, Kenly, NC 27542.
