Girls take the lead at track meet
10 October 2007 — In a tight conference meet at Princeton on September 26, the Princeton boys were edged by Spring Creek and North Duplin for a third place finish.
On the girls’ side, only Princeton and North Johnston had enough competitors for a team score, and Princeton easily won.
Adam Peedin and Chris Hinton paced Princeton with fourth and fifth place finishes. Jason Massey finished 11th, Chris Dewberry 13th, and Chase Cooper 21st.

Nathan Pounds paced Rosewood with a 34th place finish. Josh Pipkin finished 39th.
North Duplin runners finished first and second, but Spring Creek had all five of their scoring runners finish in the top 12 of team qualifiers. Princeton finished just five points behind Spring Creek.

Olivia Booker finished third on the girls’ side, about a minute behind top finisher Elizabeth Baker of North Johnston, but Maegan Hewett, Hattie Dougherty and Jill Whitley took three of the next five places for the strong Princeton finish.
Jennifer Page paced Rosewood at 17th, and Katilyn Conder finished 19th.
Princeton’s boys nipped Wayne Christian in a cross-country meet at Cliffs of the Neuse last Thursday.
Wilson Christian brought a girls team to compete, and they solidly beat the Princeton girls. Wayne Christian did not have enough girls to qualify for a team score.
Adam Peedin led Princeton and finished second overall. Jason Massey and Chris Dewberry finished fourth and fifth, and Chase Cooper and Guy Lampe finished seventh and eighth.
Princeton won the boys competition, 26 to 29.
On the girls’ side, Olivia Booker finished second, but Wilson Christian took the next four places, finishing within one minute twenty seconds of Booker’s time.
The Princeton teams are back in action Wednesday at Spring Creek.
