Bulldogs unseat Panthers
10 October 2007 — Princeton won a volleyball showdown against North Johnston Thursday, knocking the Lady Panthers out of first place in the conference.
After posting easy wins in the first two games, Princeton faced a NJ rally that netter the Panther girls a 26-24 win in the third game, and a 25-16 win in the fourth.
Princeton prevailed in the deciding fifth game, 16-14.
Ashley Braswell led Princeton with 13 kills, two digs and one ace. Katie Sasser added eight kills. Brittany Baker had three kills and three digs. Amber Wood had 22 assists for Princeton.
The win last Thursday followed a disappointing see-saw loss to North Duplin last Tuesday. The Lady Bulldogs won the first and third games before dropping the last two in the loss, 25-19 and 15-13.
Baker led Princeton with six kills, five digs and two assists. Devon Murphy added six aces, four kills, eight digs and one block. Braswell had seven aces, five kills, eight digs, an assist and a block.
The split left Princeton at 9-8 on the year, and 5-3 in conference play. They are a tied with North Johnston in second, a game behind Spring Creek.
This week the Lady Bulldogs travel to North Duplin Tuesday and host Rosewood Thursday in conference matches.
