Pigskin results

10 October 2007 — With North Carolina topping Miami, East Carolina topping Central Florida, and Princeton claiming its second win of the year, Pigskin Pickers had a tough time wading through all of the upsets.

No one correctly picked all six games in the contest, but six did get five of the six games correct, throwing the contest to the tie-breaker. And for the second week in a row, we had a high scoring game that no one came close to predicting.

When all of the scores were compared, Mike Peedin of Princeton was declared the winner based on his 38-34 prediction, just 18 points short of the 52-38 actual score.

Also getting five right were: Tyler Baker, Luby Hines, Lewis Craig Partin, D.E. Ward and Shirley Whitley.

Runner-up honors go to: Eiane Barefoot, Ronnie A. Barnes, John Crafter, Bobby M. Eason, Valerie Howell, Chris Keen, Terry Mattews, Marcia McCullen, Scott Mohiser, Kevin Narron, Russell Reynolds, Nathaniel L. Sanders Jr., David Starling, Michael Strickland, Denny Tart, Melanie Thomas, Velma Toler, Tommy Whitley and Dean Worley.

Honorable mentions go to: Bill Carr, Brent Gurganious, Carl Gurley III, Marie Harper, Lorenzo Jackson, Stephen Tart and Mike Woodard.

Mr. Peedin won two tickets to the NC State at ECU game next weekend, and we’ve got two more tickets up for grabs this week.

Remember you can’t win if you don’t enter. Clip out the entry from today’s paper and mail it in, drop it off, or enter online.
