Pigskin results
17 October 2007 — Even with another set of tough games to pick, for the second time this season, the tie-breaker wasn’t enough to break out a winner in the Pigskin Pickin’ Contest.
Five of the entries correctly picked through the six games correctly, taking the contest to the best at picking the Georgia Tech-Miami score. Unlike the past two weeks, the tie-breaker game was a defensive struggle, and all five predicted more points than were actually scored, 17-14, with Georgia Tech on top. The two closest were Stephen Tart and Carl Gurley III, and both predicted a 24-14 score. A drawing was held, and Mr. Tart was declared the winner.
The Rosewood resident won the final two NCSU-ECU tickets offered.
Also getting all correct were: Ronnie A. Barnes, Louise Daughtry and Marie Harper.
Runner-up honors go to: Brandon Baker, Bobby Eason, Valerie Howell, Chris Keen, Ken Langston, Marcia McCullen, Scott Mohiser, Mike Peedin, Russell Reynolds and Dean Worley.
Honorable mentions go to: Bill Carr, Lorenzo Jackson, Stephen Murphy, Craig parting, Denny Tart and Velma Toler.
This week we are offering two tickets to the University of Alabama-Birmingham game on Saturday, October 27 at 3 p.m.
Somebody will win those tickets, why not you? But you can’t win if you don’t enter. Cut out the entry blank in today’s News Leader, mail it in, bring it by our office, or enter online at www.princetonleadernow.com.
