RHS advances to second round

24 October 2007 — Rosewood rebounded and survived Saturday, advancing to the second round of the 1-A state playoffs.

The Lady Eagles traveled to East Bladen and prevailed in a 26-24, 25-14, 27-25 nail-biter.

Taylor Johnson led Rosewood with 14 kills. Ashley Williams had 11 kills and an ace. Paige Babb had eight assists.

Rosewood was to host East Carteret on Tuesday in the second round.

Last Tuesday the Lady Eagles fell to North Johnston in the second round of the Carolina Conference Tournament. The Lady Panthers dropped the first game, 25-16, but took the next three from Rosewood, 25-21, 25-6, and 25-22 to advance.

Johnson led Rosewood with 13 kills and six blocks.
