CHARLOTTE A. MARTIN

Charlotte A. Martin, 71, of Pikeville, died Thursday, October 25 at home after a battle with pancreas cancer.

Charlotte was born in Floyd County, Ky. on January 19, 1936, to the late Frank Clark and Victoria Jacob Clark. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 27 at 3 p.m. at Pleasant Hill F.W.B. Church. The Rev. Chuck Owens officiated. Burial followed at Wayne Memorial Park.

Charlotte is survived by her husband of 46 years, Dale L. Martin; one daughter, Deborah Martin of Rosewood; sons, Gary Martin of Marino Valley, Calif. and David Martin of Henderson; one sister, Mary Mason of Florida; four brothers, Dickie Clark of Indiana, James Clark, Joe Clark and Charles Clark, all of Kentucky; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by one daughter, Denise Martin; two sons, Michael Martin and Randall Martin; and one sister, Billie Yvonne Clark.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church, 1080 Gurley Dairy Road, Pikeville, N.C. 27863.

PEARL B. OLIVE

Pearl Thompson Brown Olive, 82, of Clayton, died Wednesday, October 24 after a period of declining health.

A native of Johnston County, Mrs. Olive was a daughter of the late John Richard and Annie Catherine Braswell Thompson. She was a 1942 graduate of Princeton High School. She was a retired nurse and a longtime member of Little Creek Primitive Baptist Church. She was predeceased by husbands Johnnie Barden Brown and James Clee Olive.

Funeral services were held Friday, October 26 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with Elders R.L. Fish, Virgil Davis, Danny Carroll, and Bobby Daughtry officiating, and eulogist Cookie Pope. Interment followed in Knollwood Memorial Park, Clayton.

She is survived by her children, Craig Olive and Jerry Brown of Clayton, Gloria B. Creech of Selma, Brenda B. Dixon of Browns Summit, Danny G. Brown of Knightdale, Dennis B. Brown of Columbia, S.C., Wayne Brown of Holden Beach, and Angela Olive of Princeton; her sister, Ruth T. Tart of Durham; her brother, Earl Thompson of Greenville; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

DOROTHY RAUCH

Dorothy Ann Kramer Rauch, 84, of Goldsboro, died Saturday, October 27 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 30 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial followed at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Princeton.

Mrs. Rauch was born on July 11, 1923, in Clearfield, Pa., to the late Clarence Kramer and Ruth Cooper Kramer.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, James Rauch; a daughter, Camille Smith of LaGrange; a son, Gary Rauch, and his wife, Kim, of Greensburg, Pa.; a sister, Marjorie Kramer of Clearfield, Pa.; grandchildren, Ted Zeigler and his wife, Amy, of Connellsville, Pa., Susan Boswell and her husband, Keith, of Lucama, Heather Ham and her husband, Jamie, of LaGrange, Stephanie Rauch and her fiance, Eric Wolfgang, Ryan Rauch, Angela Rauch, Caitlin and Sara Harcharick, all of Greensburg, Pa.; great-grandchildren, Lindsay and Timmy Zeigler, Alexander and Aaron Alves, Matthew and Maura Ham.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Carl Kramer, and son-in-law, Theodore Zeigler.
