Last week's Pigskin results

31 October 2007 — The Pigskin Pickin’ Contest was a little too predictable. Five of our pickers were able to correctly pick all six games.

That threw the contest to the tie-breaker again, and unlike recent weeks, a couple of guesses at the final score were pretty close.

Dean Sauls of LaGrange, who also happens to be the Wayne County Schools Athletic Director, knows something about ACC and high school football. He won two tickets to the Tulane at ECU (his alma mater) game on Nov. 24 for his best entry in the contest, a prediction of 38-17 in the Wake Forest-UNC game, which ended 37-10.

Also getting all six right but nipped in the tie-breaker were: Marcia McCullen, Lewis Craig Partin, Mike Peedin, and Lane Van Gorden.

Runner-up honors go to: Tyler Baker, Lanell Brown, John Crafter, Carl Gurley III, Luby Hines, Valerie Howell, Stephen Murphy, Russell Reynolds, Denny Tart, Stephen Tart and Brad Van Gorden.

Honorable mentions go to: Bill Carr, Nathaniel L. Sanders, Jr., Melanie Thomas, and Durrell Ward.

This week we have two more tickets up for grabs to the Tulane at ECU game at 1 p.m. on November 24. They could be yours, but only if you enter.

Cut out the entry in today’s News Leader, mail it in or drop it in the box at the News Leader office by 5 p.m. on Friday, or enter online.
