Biedekapp graduates boot camp

7 November 2007 — Jason Scott Biedekapp of Smithfield graduated from the U.S. Army Basic Training on Friday, October 19. During his nine weeks, Jason's training consisted of First Aid training, teamwork development, map reading and land navigation, compass training, nuclear biological chemical training and obstacle course, basic rifle marksmanship fundamental training, Army physical fitness testing, hand grenade training, and Victory Forge, which consisted of a 10km foot march and night infiltration course.
Jason successfully completed Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, SC, Company A, 1st Batallion, 61st Infantry Regiment. His parents, Mark and Donna Biedekapp, reside in Smithfield. His grandparents are Wilbur and Cindy Biedekapp of Hancock, New York and Paul and Sandra Bartholomew of Hancock, New York. He is a 2007 graduate of Princeton High School.
On Monday, October 22, Jason began his Advanced Individual Training to learn skills specific to his Army career. During his training, he will be stationed at Fort Jackson, SC.
