7 November 2007 — The Princeton Lady Bulldogs advanced to the State 1-A Cross Country finals Saturday at Tanglewood Park near Winston-Salem.

Olivia Booker led Princeton with a time of 24:07 to finish 63rd in the strong field. Meagan Hewett was 31 seconds back and finished 12 spots back in the field. The next three PHS runners finished within a minute and a half of Hewett’s time: Brittany Rainbow, Jill Whitley and Logan Keene.
Princeton beat North Johnston out by 36 points, the only other Carolina 1-A Conference school to qualify.
Princeton’s scores qualified the team as 13th in the 1-A standings.
The week before both the Princeton boys and girls had competed at Trask High School at Rocky Point in the regionals.
The girls finished second, with the top five Princeton runners finishing in the top 22 finishers. They were bested by a NC School of Science and Math squad that had four of the top eight runners.
Booker led Princeton with a sixth place finish, while Hewett, Rainbow, Hattie Dougherty and Keene rounded out the top five for Princeton. They also beat out North Johnston at the Regionals, by 25 points.
The Princeton boys were led by Adam Peedin who finished 23rd. Chris Dewberry, Jason Massey, Chase Cooper and Guy Lampe rounded out the top five finishers for Princeton.
Princeton Coach Marty Gurganious complemented both teams for their strong representation of the school all season.
