Newell, Peeden wed at Baker's Chapel

5 December 2007 — Amanda Gail Newell of Princeton and Roger Lynn Peeden Jr. of Princeton were united in marriage at 4 p.m. on November 17, 2007 at Baker's Chapel Church in Princeton. The Rev. Donald Massey officiated the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Frances and Harold Jones and Randy Newell, and the granddaughter of Lonnie and Mary Best and the late Simeon and Louise Newell. She is a 2003 graduate of Rosewood High School, and is attending Wayne Community College in the Early Childhood Development program. She is employed by the Wayne Community Child Care Center.

The groom is the son of Roger and Martha Peeden Sr. and the grandson of Carson Carter and the late Faye Carter, and Louise Sorensen. He is a graduate of Princeton High School, and is employed by the Johnston County Department of Transportation, on Princeton Fire and Rescue.

Escorted by her father and stepfather and given in marriage by her family, the bride wore a gown of candlelight white satin trimmed in red satin. For her headpiece, she chose a crystal tiara with rhinestones. She carried a bouquet of red and white roses.

Mrs. Melissa Peacock was her cousin's matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Kimberly Petit of Princeton, sister of the groom, and Mrs. Cindy Chapel of Princeton, friend of the couple.

Roger Lynn Peeden Sr. was his son's best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Chris Petit of Princeton, brother-in-law of the groom, and Mr. Charles Bass of Princeton, friend of the couple.

Flower girl was Ms. McKayla Ward of Princeton. Ring bearer was Mr. Christian Peeden of Princeton, brother of the groom.

The wedding was directed by Mrs. Wanda Tyndall. The reception was held at the Princeton Community Building.

After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, SC, the couple resides in Princeton.

A party was held at the bride's grandparents' home on August 25. A shower was held for the couple on September 9 at Providence United Methodist Church in Goldsboro. A shower was held for the couple on October 14 at the home of Louise Sorensen.
