EFFIE M. WALLS
Effie Mae Walls of Princeton died Thursday, December 13.
Effie was born to the late Eugene and Roberta Howell Best of Wayne County. "Candi," as she was affectionately called, joined Cedar Grove Church in Princeton as a young adult. She was married to the late Lonnie Walls and had nine children. One son, Robert Walls, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 19 at 11 a.m. at St. Mark Church of Christ with Elder Ronald Parks officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-6 p.m., with a walk-in with the family present to receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m., at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries.
She is survived by four sons, Lonnie Walls and wife, Paulina, of Avondale, Ariz., James Earl Walls of Princeton, Retired Sgt. Major Larry Walls Sr., and wife, Olivia, of Goldsboro, Rudolph Walls of Dudley; four daughers, Ruth Atkinson of Washington, D.C., Julia Hayward and husband, Milton, of New Carrollton, Md., Rosa Waters and husband, DeMonso, of Oaks, Pa.; Patricia Gurley of Raleigh; two brothers, Willie L. Best and wife, Gladys, of Raleigh, Luby Best and wife, Mary, of Chesapeake, Va.; two sisters, Julia Jackson and Elnora Hodges, both of Portsmouth, Va.; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

TERESA BIEDEKAPP
Teresa Lynn Bailey Biedekapp, 47, of Smithfield, died Monday, December 10.
Funeral services were held on Thursday at Parrish Funeral Home in Princeton.
Surviving are two sons, Joshua Biedekapp and Jason Biedekapp, both of Smithfield; a daughter, Jennifer Crossman of Columbia, S.C.; her mother, Roberta Coleman of Missouri; three brothers, Darren Bailey and Glenn Bailey, Jr., both of Jacksonville, and Jerry Bailey of Greenville.

ELLSWORTH 'CRICKET' DAIL
Ellsworth "Cricket" Herman Dail, 75, of Goldsboro, died Friday, December 15 at home.
Funeral services were held Sunday, December 17 at 4 p.m. from the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory with visitation afterwards. The Revs. Dennis Pollock and Ken Powell officiated. Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 18 at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Princeton.
Mr. Dail was born in Wayne County on June 23, 1932 to the late Frank and Addie Dail. He was a member of Spring Hill Free Will Baptist Church and was the former owner and operator of Fastener's Supply of Goldsboro.
He is survived by his wife, Melba K. Dail; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Joyce and Frank Barnes of Goldsboro, Lois and James Arthur of Princeton, Cindy and Carlton Aycock of Pikeville and Linda Raynor of Pikeville; one brother, Donald Dail of Cove City; one sister and brother-in-law, Effie and Carroll Cook of Mount Olive; five grandchildren and two grandchildren-in-law, Dawn B. Evans, Amanda A. and Mikhail Arkaev, Jennifer A. and Brad Massey, Sterling Raynor and Daniel Raynor; and two great-grandchildren, Ashlea and Austin.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Dail was preceded in death by one grandson, Jamie Arthur; four brothers; and two sisters.

W.A. ‘BILL’ DAUGHTRY
William Avery “Bill” Daughtry, 76, of Selma, died Tuesday, December 11 at his home.
Born January 18, 1931 in Johnston County, Mr. Daughtry was a son of the late William Clarence and Elizabeth Carolyn Weaver Daughtry. A member of the Selma Church of God, he provided a music ministry at Britthaven Nursing Center for more than 25 years.
The funeral was held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 12 at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. The Revs. Robbie Strickland and Frank Beasley officiated. Burial was Thursday morning, December 13, in the cemetery at Holly Springs Church near Kenly.
Surviving are his wife, Jo Ann Morgan Daughtry; two sons, Danny Daughtry of Princeton and Tony Capps of Halifax; four daughters, Jill Holloman of Nashville, Jennifer Jett of Lucama, and Renee Barnes and Debbie Ratley, both of Wilson; two brothers, Bobby Daughtry and Jack Daughtry, both of Selma; eleven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Selma Church of God, 905 W. Oak Street, Selma, NC 27576; or to Home Health and Hospice Care, 723 S. 3rd Street, Smithfield NC 27577.

LUELLA W. SCRIVENER
Luella Evans Worley Scrivener, 84, of Tallahassee, Florida, died Sunday, December 16.
Luella was born in Princeton and had lived in Miami from 1950 to 1975, where she was owner and operator of Luella's Beauty Salon. She was a retired cosmetologist, with fifty years of service. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Clifton J. Worley of Princeton and Blair J. Scrivener of Tallahassee.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 19 at 10 a.m. at Culley's Meadowwood Funeral Home-Riggins Road Chapel in Tallahassee, with burial at Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 18 at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Hunt and husband John, Jr. of Tallahassee and Connie McVay and husband Jimmy of Etowah, NC; six grandchildren, Amy Hunt, Luewin Hunt, Susan and Derek Johnson, Jimmy and Margaret McVay, Kelli and Jason Wolfe, and Kristi and Chris Poppa; four great-grandchildren, James Montana McVay, Cody Preston McVay, Everett James Poppa, and Anna Catherine Wolfe; five stepchildren, Elise Autwell, Sheldon Scrivener, Geoff Scrivener, and Leslie Scrivener.
