Santa brings coal for Rosewood boys, girls

26 December 2007 — At least they didn’t have to make the long drive home afterwards.

The strong Louisburg squads completed the home-and-home non-conference match-up with Rosewood Tuesday night completing the pre-Christmas break schedule for the Eagle teams. It was not a fun night for the home teams.

The Rosewood boys suffered a 53-39 loss.

The Lady Eagles had their own share of struggles in a 46-20 defeat.

The Eagle boys began the team competitive with the Warriors, but fell behind in the second quarter and couldn’t recover.

Stephen McIntyre led the Eagles with 14 points. Tyler Muntz added ten and Holt Rains had nine.

The Rosewood girls were crushed by the Louisburg press in the first quarter, turning the ball over numerous times without a shot and often without getting the ball over the mid-court line.

Louisburg took a 18-1 lead at the end of the first quarter, and 27-6 at the half.

Paige Babb led Rosewood with six points, Melissa Hall had four, and Shantal Johnson and Taylor Johnson each had three.

The Eagle teams will be off until January 2.

The Rosewood boys and girls both end the pre-Christmas schedule with 4-4 records.
