Don and Marla Ashworth of Princeton announce the birth of a son, John Darrell, in Greenville on Saturday, December 29 at 9:37 p.m. He was eight pounds, ten and a half ounces, and twenty-one inches. He joins siblings Rachel, 8, and Daniel, 2. Grandparents are Linda Stroud of Albertson and Darrell and Ann Horne of Goldsboro, and Linda and Jim Ashworth of Rosewood.


Gospel Sing at Progressive

Progressive Presbyterian Church of Princeton will hold a Gospel Sing Jubilee on Sunday, January 6 at 6 p.m., with the Living Waters of Princeton. All are welcome to come worship and ring in the new year.


Evans completes Marine course

Marine Corps Pfc. Travis W. Evans, son of Lucinda R. Davis of Kenly and Travis L. Evans of Princeton, recently completed the Marine Corps Enlisted Warehouse Basic Course.

During the course with Marine Corps Combat Service Support Schools Training Command, Camp Lejeune, students are provided with a comprehensive theoretical and practical background in the performance and administration of duties as a warehouse clerk. Studies include storage and issue procedures, record keeping, inventory of materials, storing gear, and running warehouse machinery such as a forklift.

Evans is a 2006 graduate of Princeton High School.
