Eagles win duel at home
02 January 2008 — The Eagle wrestlers earned another win Thursday night, defeating Ayden Grifton in a duals match at the Eagle’s Nest. Rosewood won with 54 points to Ayden Grifton’s 26.
Jake Smith (119) earned his first varsity win in the match, taking down his opponent in 1:17.
Coach Bill Edmundson said his anchor members all earned win as well to help the team secure the win.
Wrestling at 103 this week, Olivia Neal pinned her opponent in 18 seconds. JD Baker (130), Joshua Holmes (145), and Trevor Morris (Hwt) all earned pins in under two minutes, and Brandon Dean (215) earned a pin as well after a 3:16 match.
The Eagles also had two wins by forfeit.
The Eagles will travel to Overhills High tomorrow (Thursday), and will wrestle in the Pilkington Memorial Duals on January 5 at Charles B. Aycock High.
