Pick the Hoops results
09 January 2008 — You could say we started off with an easy one on the News Leader Pick the Hoops Contest.
All of the favored teams won in the ACC contests we had on the card, though Clemson and Cornell made it interesting. The real question was the high school games, with the Rosewood teams in a rematch with Wayne Country Day.
Sandra Jackson of Raleigh was the only one to correctly pick all six games, and she was amazingly close to the score of the tie-breaker, 78-73, though that wasn’t needed.
For her best of the pickers effort, she won two tickets to the North Carolina Central game at NC State tonight (Wednesday).
This week, we’ve got seven contests, and a new prize, four tickets to the East Carolina game hosting Central Florida on Saturday, January 19 at 7 p.m.
You can enter online, as Ms. Jackson did, or cut out the entry from today’s newspaper. Be sure and get it in by 5 p.m. Friday.
