Pick the Hoops winner

16 January 2008 — Pick the Hoops heated up with some hot ACC action and some unexpected success by a local girls team.

The Lady Bulldogs’ win at Spring Creek fooled a number of the pickers, along with Boston College’s win over Wake Forest.

Melanie Thomas wasn’t fooled, however. She correctly forecast all seven games last week to emerge our second Pick the Hoops winner.

Melanie scored four tickets to this Saturday’s game at ECU as the Pirates take on University of Central Florida. That’s one of the games on this week’s entry.

The Rosewood resident nosed out four others for the prize: Louise Daughtry, Valerie Howell, Ken Langston, and Nathaniel L. Sanders Jr.

Honorable mentions go to: Stephen Murphy and Michael Strickland.

This week we are giving away four more tickets to an ECU game, this one the following Saturday against Tulane at 7 p.m.

You can cut out the entry from today’s paper to enter, as Melanie did, or you can enter online. Be sure and get your entry in by 5 p.m. Friday, either to the office, postmarked by Friday, on online by the deadline. One entry per physical address, no matter how you enter.
