Bulldogs take down Spring Creek

16 January 2008 — The Princeton boys survived a bloody battle with Spring Creek at the PHS gym Friday night in their conference opener, 55-46.

Last Tuesday the Dawgs overcame a first half deficit to post a 53-44 win over Hobbton at the Bulldog gym.

The physical game with Spring Creek Friday was punctuated by an aggressive play under the basket when one of the Gators hit the floor and opened a gash in his head.

Senior Ryan Daughtry was sizzling again Friday, hitting 13 first quarter points on his way to a 28-point night.

Post men Josh Barefoot had ten rebounds and six points, and Christopher Hinton added eight boards and nine points.

Last Tuesday Princeton went on a 9-0 run to start the final quarter to stave off a determined Hobbton effort.

The Wildcat defense gave the Bulldogs problems much of the night.

Barefoot stepped up his game and responded with a 17-point effort. Daughtry led all scorers with 21 points, which included four from beyond the three-point arc.

The wins pushed Princeton’s mark to 12-3 on the season.

Princeton is taking a break for exams this week, but will next be on the hardwoods at North Duplin Friday night.
