16 January 2008 — The Princeton girls basketball team is having more fun these days, and it is showing on the floor and the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday the Lady Bulldogs pulled away from Hobbton in the second half of a 55-41 home win.
Friday the PHS girls opened their conference schedule, hosting a 52-30 win over Spring Creek.

Last Tuesday the Princeton girls’ aggressiveness showed as their two point guards ended the game on the bench with foul problems. That opened the door for Tiffine Battle and Devon Murphy off the bench, and the two combined for 16 points to help Princeton’s second half surge.
Ashley Braswell led Princeton with 19 points.

Princeton was not great on shooting percentage, but they were very aggressive on the offensive boards, often getting several shots which would finally yield a basket.
Friday the Lady Bulldogs got a solid game from Brittany Baker who led Princeton with 19 points. Two other starters, Braswell and Rebecca Harlan had seven points apiece in the easy win.
After last Tuesday’s win, Princeton Coach David Anderson said his team’s chemistry is working. “They’re playing together like good friends.”

One major improvement he noted is the accuracy of their passing, cutting down on the turnovers.
He also said they have gone to a more up tempo style, and the girls seem to like that better.
Princeton improved with the two wins to 6-9 on the season.
With a break for exams, Princeton does not play again until Friday when they travel to North Duplin.
