Rosewood takes twelfth crown at Albemarle

16 January 2008 — Rosewood High School captured first place in the Carolina – Albemarle Conference Championships this Saturday for the twelfth consecutive year, defeating every other team in the tournament.

Rosewood had a 51-27 win over North Johnston, who finished the tournament in second place. The Eagles took down Princeton 45-28 in their closest match of the day, and won 51-30 over Spring Creek. They defeated Ayden-Grifton 64-18, and earned a 72-12 win over Manteo.

Olivia Neal, Ariel Nacca, Joshua Holmes, and Trevor Morris finished with a perfect 5-0 record for the match. Andrew Sass was also undefeated in the four matches he wrestled. Jonathan Rudolph, Brandon Dean, and JP Pearson went 4-1, while Kelly Cosgrove and Andy Seaman were 3-2.

Currently, the Eagles stand at 20-9 in dual matches. They will not wrestle any duals this week due to semester final exams, but will participate in the Firebird Duals at Southern Nash this weekend.
