highway patrol report
6 February 2008 — Local residents were involved in accidents investigated recently by the highway patrol.
Donald Glenn Best, 56, Old Denning Rd., Princeton, was involved in an accident on Jan. 22 at 9:31 p.m. on US 301 near Micro. He was struck by a vehicle driven by Billy Harvey. Mr. Harvey was charged with failure to reduce speed. Damage was estimated at $1000.
Judy Braswell, 55, of US 70 E., Princeton, was involved in an accident on Jan. 20 at 5:15 p.m. on US 70 near RP 2522. She ran off the road and struck a ditch trying to avoid a car stopped in the road. No charges were filed. Damage was estimated at $1500.
Kimberly Rhodes, 44, of Braswell Rd., Smithfield, and Debra Ricks, 42, of Madison Ave., Princeton, were involved in an accident on US 70 near Pine Level at RP2308 on Jan. 13 at 7:50 p.m. Ms. Ricks’ car hit Ms. Rhodes’ car when she tried to make a left turn on US 70 in front of Ms. Rhodes’ car who was coming west on US 70. No charges were filed. Ms. Rhodes ’98 Ford suffered $8,000 damage, as did Ms. Ricks’ 2001 Toyota.
Sherry Ann Kizer, 53, of Brogden School Rd., Smithfield, was involved in a wreck with George Marshall of Thel Dr., Goldsboro on RP1007 near RP 2507 near Smithfield. The two vehicles sideswiped each other. No charges were filed. Damages were estimated at $200 for each vehicle.
Kenneth Rowe, 34, of Princeton-Kenly Rd., struck a deer while on RP2342 near RP2320 on Jan. 12 at 6:25 p.m. Damage was estimated at $2500.
