ILA MAE JOHNSON

Ila Mae Creech Johnson, 89, of Selma, died Saturday, February 2 after a period of failing health.

Born March 7, 1918, in Johnston County, Mrs. Johnson was a daughter of the late Luther Thomas and Mary Elizabeth Sullivan Creech.

The funeral was Monday morning, February 4, at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. Burial followed in Oakland Heights Cemetery in Smithfield.

Surviving are her husband, Lonnie Ed Johnson; a son, Eddie Johnson of Selma; two daughters, Cheryl Register and Carolyn Crumpler, both of Smithfield; six brothers, John R. Creech of Alabama, George Wilbert Creech of Rosewood, L.T. Creech and Billy Ray Creech, both of Selma, Donald M. Creech of Smithfield, and Harrell B. Creech of Charleston, Ore.; a sister, Nona Matthews of Wilson; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Building Fund at Divine Crossings Baptist Churchs, 440 Little Divine Road, Selma NC 27576.
