Rosewood takes down Princeton in grudge match
6 February 2008 — In a modern version of “Jack the Giant Killer,” Rosewood brought the Princeton Bulldogs down to earth with a mighty thud, 64-41, last Tuesday night.

Princeton had lost just four games, winning 14 coming into the match-up, while Rosewood had only won five games against ten losses. Princeton held a 3-1 conference mark, while Rosewood had a 1-3 record in the league.
Taylor Allen hit a couple of treys for the Eagles early, but Ryan Daughtry and Michael Radford answered with some Princeton three’s as the Bulldogs claimed a 12-11 advantage at the end of the first quarter.

When the second quarter began, Rosewood stepped up their defense, and Stephen McIntyre took over on the offensive end for the Eagles. For the next five minutes on the clock, the Bulldog score would not budge, but McIntyre was hitting from everywhere. He hit on a couple of drives to the hoop, then posted up beyond the arc for long three’s. He even cashed his only free throw attempts in the quarter.

McIntyre single-handedly out-scored Princeton in the quarter, 17-5, and Rosewood took a 32-17 lead at the first half break.
Princeton kept it respectable through the third quarter, but McIntyre caught fire again in the fourth quarter with eight points as Rosewood pulled away.

McIntyre finished the game with 30 points. Allen and Holt Rains had 12 apiece.
Daughtry led Princeton with 14, and Radford and Josh Barefoot had nine apiece for Princeton.
