Lady Eagles try to claw down Bulldogs
6 February 2008 — As the old saying goes, you can throw out the records on this one.

The Rosewood girls have been struggling this season to score, and the Princeton girls have been playing very well of late. But give the Rosewood girls a chance at their backyard rivals at home, and the Lady Eagles summoned a super effort.
Despite the spirited effort, Princeton held off the homestanding Rosewood girls in a tough 54-41 win.

Princeton took a 17-13 advantage at the first quarter break, and was ahead 27-22 at the half. Princeton hit six of eight free throws in the third quarter as they stretched the lead to 40-30.
In the fourth quarter the Lady Eagles sent Princeton to the free throw line for 16 attempts, and Princeton could only cash six, but Rosewood could not take advantage, only hitting four field goals in the final eight minutes.

Amber Wood and Jill Whitley led Princeton with 11 points each. Ashley Braswell and Brittany Baker each added eight. Whitley and Braswell each had six rebounds as the Princeton girls held a 29-16 rebounding edge.
Shantal Johnson led Rosewood with 12 points, while Taylor Johnson and Haile Meadows had nine each.
