sheriff's report

6 February 2008 — A Princeton area resident woke to find two men in her home early Sunday morning.

Crystal Horne, 19, US Hwy 70 E, Princeton reported that between 1:45 and 2:03 a.m. on Feb. 3 while she was sleeping two males, one with a handgun, apparently entered her home and went into her bedroom. They yelled for Ms. Horne and a friend staying there to get up and come into living room. Meanwhile, one of the men was rummaging through the house.

Ms. Horne reported a $130 PlayStation 2 system, $40 Nintendo Gamecube game, $50 cell phone and $100 in cash taken. Sheriff deputies are following up leads on the case.

Arelio Matias, 46, of Old Cornwallis Rd., Princeton, reported a breaking, entry and larceny between February 2 and 3. He apparently was keeping a $400 amplifier and a $500 sound mixer at a friend's house. The friend did not lock the house when he left and did not realize until later that the items had been taken.

Leroy Bryant, 60, Rains Crossroads Road, was arrested for driving while impaired, felony fleeing to elude arrest, and speeding on Feb. 1. He is being held on $12,500 bond. According to reports, an officer tried to stop him in Pine Level, but he failed to stop for the officer and eventually tried to drive through a ditch and hide behind the house where he was staying.

Warren Atkinson, 27, of Arrowhead Dr., Princeton, was charged with injury to real property and second degree trespass on January 31.

Graham Lynch, 71, of Brogden Rd., reported his Waste Management trash can stolen from the roadway between January 27 and 29.

Francis Talton, 61, of Progressive Church Rd., Princeton reported last Wednesday that her juvenile daughter had assaulted her in December and threatened her.
