Rosewood boys take down Spring Creek

13 February 2008 — The improving Rosewood boys lost a tough one at North Johnston last Tuesday, 51-47, but rebounded with a 71-63 win at Spring Creek Friday.

The Eagles are likely to see Spring Creek again next week as the Carolina Conference Tournament begins.

The win at Spring Creek gave Rosewood claim on fourth place in league play. If those two teams finish fourth and fifth, they will meet again Tuesday, with Rosewood likely to host this meeting. If the higher seeds win, Rosewood would probably play Ayden-Grifton next Thursday.

First, Rosewood has North Duplin this Tuesday at Rosewood, and goes to Princeton on Friday.

Friday night the Eagles went to the post as Tyler Muntz and Holt Rains supplied the muscle down low and put 22 and 13 points up respectively in the impressive win. Terrance Toran also his double figures with 12.

Last Tuesday the firepower was coming from the outside at Stephen McIntyre took it to the Panthers with 18 points. Muntz and Rains had eight apiece in the loss.

The Rosewood girls dropped both of their games. They pushed Spring Creek to overtime before a 52-48 loss.

The Rosewood girls will likely open the tournament at Princeton next Monday.
