Princeton girls even up record
5 March 2008 — The Princeton softball team dropped to a split 2-2 record this week with a win and a loss.
The ladies traveled to Wayne Christian on Saturday, falling 8-0, but followed up with a swift 9-2 win over Clayton on Monday.

Friday evening, the Lady Dawgs started off strong, earning a 3-1 lead over Clayton in the first inning. By the end of the fifth inning, the girls had increased their lead to 7-2, and tacked on two more runs by the end of the game. The Bulldog defense held the Comets scoreless after the third inning.

Danielle Mitchell was the big hitter for Princeton on Friday, earning a triple and going 2-4. Brittany Baker was steady with two singles. Tylan George walked twice and earned two hits, and Ashley Braswell had one hit and walked three times.
April Keene was the starting pitcher for Princeton Friday night, going for the first four innings. Keene had six strikeouts, four hits, five walks, and one hit by pitch for the 23 batters she faced.

Traci Bridgers relieved Keene in the fifth inning, throwing six strikeouts and allowing two hits.
The Bulldogs had a non-conference loss to Wayne Christian on Saturday.
The girls had power at the plate, but not enough to send any of their runners home. The girls had four hits for the game and stranded six runners on base. Their batting power faded after the fourth inning, and not a single Princeton player had a hit.

April Keene had a double for the Dawgs, and Ashley Braswell, Tylan George, and Devon Murphy each went 1-3.
But defensive errors did the ladies in during the sixth inning, when the Eagles mounted their huge lead. Three errors, one wild pitch, and three hits sent six Eagles across the plate, bumping Wayne Christian’s advantage from two points to eight.
Keene was the starting pitcher with four hits, two runs, one walk, and four strikeouts in four innings. Traci Bridgers relieved Keene, and had three hits, six runs, and one strikout in the final three innings.
