Bojangles robbed

5 March 2008 — Princeton’s most popular restaurant is getting more unwanted patronage, by thieves.

Princeton Police is searching for a gunman who robbed the Bojangles on US 70 early Saturday morning.

A Princeton Police officer on patrol discovered the door to the restaurant had been smashed out around 4:30 a.m.  Moments later an employee, Yanely Pacheco, came out of a wooded area near the restaurant.

Police Chief Eddie Lewis said Ms. Pacheco was locked inside the restaurant around 4:10 a.m. when a man used the barrel of a long gun to break through a glass door.  The robber forced Ms. Pacheco into the office, disabled the alarm, and then took an undisclosed amount of cash.  The robber then forced the employee into the wooded area with him, before she was released a few minutes later.

The early morning robbery was captured on a video surveillance camera.

Chief Lewis said once the suspect is located, he could face charges that include armed robbery, kidnapping, and aggravated assault.

Chief Lewis reported to the town board Monday night that he expects an arrest in the next few days.
