Lady Eagles place second

12 March 2008 — Rosewood’s women’s track team finished second in a four-team meet on Thursday.

The Eagles hosted Lakewood, Union, and Eastern North Carolina School of the Deaf. Rosewood’s total 73 points earned them a second-place finish behind Union, who gathered 79 points. Lakewood followed in third with 62 points, and ENCSD had 12 for fourth.

A number of Rosewood ladies earned first place finishes. Olivia Neal seized first in pole vault with a height of six feet. Jennifer Baker competed in triple jump, earning first with 24 feet, seven and a half inches.

An Eagle quartet also earned first in the 800 relay. Casey Binda, Siobhan Allen, Brittany Duffley and Jennifer Page finished in 12:57. Page also earned first in the 800 meter run with a time of 3:09. Shontal Johnson had two first-place finishes in the 100 and 300 high hurdles.

Due to darkness, the 3200 meter run and 1600 meter relay were not contested and the meet ended early.
