Princeton, Rosewood face off

19 March 2008 — Ayden-Grifton won 13 of 18 contested events in a men’s track meet with Rosewood and Princeton last Thursday, but T.J. Wilson won three events for Princeton, and James Drew took the pole vault.

Senior David Simms claimed the lone win for Rosewood in the high jump. Rosewood did finish second overall to Ayden-Grifton.

Last Tuesday the Eagles scored a win over Midway and Wayne Christian.

Junior Billy Page won the long jump, triple jump and 400 meter dash. He also was part of the winning 1600 meter winning team, along with Jacquez Raynor, Jordan Adams and David Spriggs.

Tyler Muntz claimed the discus.

Rosewood competed in a tri-meet at home on Tuesday against Midway and Wayne Christian School, finishing in first place with a team score of 103. Midway followed with 31 points, and Wayne Christian claimed third with 30 points.

Finishing with individual first place honors for Rosewood were India McGowan (Long Jump 13'2" and High Jump 4'6"), Olivia Neal (Pole Vault 6'6" and 400 Meter Dash 1:09), Sade Davis (100 Hurdles 20.47), Jasmine Montgomery (100 meter dash 14.3 and 200 meter dash 30.1), Jennifer Page (800 meter run 3:04 and 1600 meter run 7:30), and Shontal Johnson (300 hurdles 1:01.0).

Rosewood's 4 x 800 team of Casey Binda, Brittany Duffley, Olivia Neal, and Jennifer Page finished 1st in 12:14.

Rosewood's 4 x 400 team of Casey Binda, India McGowan, Shontal Johnson, and Olivia Neal finished 1st in 5:08.
