Another accident right before prom
26 March 2008 — The morning after a safety presentation to Princeton High School juniors and seniors, two Princeton High School seniors were involved in what easily could have been a fatal wreck.

Christopher Massengill, 18, of Selma, and Ashley Everman, 18, had just dropped off Miss Everman’s child at a Pine Level day care. As they were leaving Pine Level, Mr. Massengill ran off the side of the road, over-corrected, and ran in front of a J.P. Edwards truck driven by Jackie Toler of Kenly. The truck hit the back of the Chevy, shearing off the back end of the car, which held the car seat for Miss Everman’s child.
Charges related to excessive speed were expected against Massengill.
