Dawgs downed by Fike
26 March 2008 — The Bulldogs finished the pre-Easter break with a tough loss at home last Wednesday.

Fike put a 19-2 loss on Princeton. The day before they hung a 9-0 loss on Union.
The non-conference loss Wednesday was a chance to renew acquaintances with former Princeton Coach Randy Prince, and the loss to the larger school might be expected. Still there were some troubling signs.

Ryan Daughtry who started struggled with his control was battling from behind in the count for most of his outing. Knowing when he needed a strike, the Fike hitters teed off on his offerings.
After he gave up nine runs on eight hits and three walks in 1 2/3, he moved to shortstop and strained his arm on a throw across the infield.
Michael Radford moved to the mound and he gave up ten runs on eight hits in 3 1/3.
Radford, Daughtry and Josh Bizzell each had two hits for Princeton.
One of the bright spots of the season has been the pitching of Christopher Hinton. The senior had another strong outing Tuesday, pitching a complete game, allowing just two hits, striking out 12 with one walk.
Coach Bruce Proctor said the top of his lineup, Radford, Benton Myers, and Daughtry, continued to hit the ball well in the win.
Princeton (3-5) is back in action at 4 p.m. Thursday, hosting Dixon in the first round of the Deacon Jones Invitational at the Bullldog diamond with Hinton taking the mound. Rosewood will play Spring Creek at 7 p.m.
The two Thursday losers will meet at 4 p.m. Friday, and the championship will be decided at 7 p.m.
The Bulldogs will host Spring Creek next Tuesday as conference play begins.
