Rosewood breaks out bats in two wins
26 March 2008 — The Rosewood baseball team finally got the big lumber out last week and posted a couple of impressive wins going into the Easter break.

Last Tuesday the Eagles exploded for five runs in the third inning at Hobbton, and then added seven in the fifth en route to a 14-4 win.
Wayne Country Day tallied two runs in the first at Rosewood Thursday, but the Proud Purple put up 14 in the fourth and fifth innings to bury the Chargers, 15-5.
The Eagles had struggled during a five game losing streak, struggling for hits and runs. In the two wins, Robert Franks, Will Beasley and Holt Rains each stroked two run homers.

Franks was the leading hitter in Tuesday’s win, collecting three hits with four rbi. Steven Bostic also had three hits.
Beasley picked up the win, going five innings in relief, yielding just three hits and five walks while striking out four.
In Thursday’s win, Cody Richards was the man, getting the win on the mound and collecting three hits including a double and a triple. Franks, Taylor Allen and Rains each had two hits.
The wins improved the Eagles’ record to 3-5 going into the Easter break.
Rosewood will come back early this Thursday and Friday to play in the Deacon Jones Invitational at Princeton. They open against Spring Creek at 7 p.m., while Princeton takes on Dixon at 4 p.m. The two winners from the Thursday games will meet at 7 p.m. Friday, while the losers will play at 4 p.m.
