Matthews, Medlin to wed

2 April 2008 — Mr. and Mrs. David Matthews of Princeton announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Edith Lynn Matthews of Irmo, SC, to Thomas Haywood Medlin III of Irmo, SC. The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Reid and Leona Morrison, and Mr. and Mrs. D.N. Matthews. She graduated from Princeton High School and from Barton College with a B.S. in Gerontology, and is currently a graduate student at the University of South Carolina. Her fiancé is the son of Janet and Thomas H. Medlin, Jr. of Princeton, and the grandson of Norma Leigh Potts, Viola Medlin, and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas H. Medlin Sr. His great-grandmother is Alise Medlin. He graduated from Princeton High School and from N.C. State University with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, and is employed at Albemarle Corporation as a chemical engineer. The wedding is set for April 19, 2008 at Tee's Chapel Original Free Will Baptist Church in Smithfield at 3 p.m. Friends and relatives are invited to attend.
