Lady Eagle wrestlers head to US championships

2 April 2008 — Ariel Nacca, Kelly Cosgrove, and Olivia Neal of Rosewood High School competed in the United States Girls Wrestling Association National Championships over the weekend.  Prior to the event they competed in the USGWA North Carolina Championships held at Eastern Randolph High School. In the State Championships, Olivia Neal was a State Champion at 112 pounds, Kelly Cosgrove finished 3rd at 112 pounds, and Ariel Nacca was the State Champion at 124 pounds. In Michigan, Ariel Nacca competed in the 128 pound class and lost 2 matches. Kelly Cosgrove wrestled in the 112 pound weight class and made it to the All-American Round, placing 8th in the Nation at 112 pounds.  Olivia Neal also made it to the All-American Round and placed 7th in the Nation at 103 pounds.  Kelly and Olivia, both seniors, end their stellar high schools as Rosewood's first female All-Americans.
