09 April 2008 — According to North Carolina Highway Patrol Reports, a vehicle owned by Edward Murphy Jr. of Grabtown Rd. in Princeton was involved in an accident on Brogden Rd., 2.1 mile east of Smithfield, on Saturday, April 5. Edwards' vehicle apparently ran off the right side of the road and struck a ditch, a tree and went into a stream. The vehicle was partially submerged. The driver left the scene before emergency personnel had arrived. Approximately $4,000 damage was done to the 1995 Nissan.
Shannon Nicley, 23, of Boonhill Dr in Princeton was involved in an accident with Brittany Ellis of Raleigh on US Highway 70, .40 miles west of Clayton, on Monday, March 31 at 5:15 p.m. Approximately $500 worth of damage was done to Ms. Nicley's 2002 Mitsubishi. Ms. Nicely was charged with failure to reduce speed.
Leigh Stroud, 30, of Rockwell Lane in Princeton was involved in an accident on March 27 at 8:45 p.m. on US Highway 70, .20 miles east of Pine Level. Approximately, $1,100 worth of damage was done to her 2000 Pontiac. Ms. Stroud's vehicle was apparently struck by a deer.
Misty Baker, 22, of Pearl St. in Princeton, was involved in an accident on US Highway 70 Business, .60 miles east of Smithfield. Approximately, $2,700 worth of damage was done to her 2000 Pontiac. Ms. Stroud's vehicle was apparently struck by a deer.
William Godwin, 84, of Brogden Rd. in Smithfield was involved in an accident on March 31 at 3:10 p.m. on Bakers Chapel Rd., 2.3 miles west of Princeton. Approximately $3,000 worth of damage was done to his 1987 Toyota. Apparently his vehicle drove off the road to the right, struck a tree and came rest against a tree. The driver stated that he must have blacked out and does not remember anything about the collision. He was charged with lane violation.
