Bulldogs hit their stride at Spring Creek

09 April 2008 — The Bulldog baseball team bounced Spring Creek and North Duplin last week as they came off Easter break.

Last Wednesday the Princeton boys took a 9-4 win at the Bulldog diamond over the Gators.

Friday the Dawgs downed North Duplin at the Rebels’ field, 7-3.

Christopher Hinton took the mound and after yielding a run in the first, shut out the Gators over the next four innings. He ended the evening with nine strikeouts and held Spring Creek to a single hit in five innings of work.

Ryan Daughtry came on in relief. He held Spring Creek to no hits, but the defense behind him had a tough stretch, as they gave up two errors as the Gators scored three times in the top of the seventh. Princeton had a 9-1 lead going into the top half of the final frame.

Michael Radford led the Princeton attack with two doubles and a triple. He scored two runs and had an rbi.

Daughtry also scored twice and stroked a triple. Benton Myers, Dillon Daughtry, Josh Bizzell and Adam Peedin also collected hits and rbi.

Radford had another strong outing on the mound Friday. He came on in relief of Ryan Daughtry, and held the Rebel hitters to just one hit over four innings of work. He rang up seven strikeouts.

Myers swung the big stick for Princeton, banging a homer and a triple. Ryan Daughtry also homered, while Hinton tripled. Kameron Harrison doubled.

Tuesday Princeton was at North Johnston. Friday Ayden-Grifton is at Princeton. Next Monday they host C.B. Aycock in a non-conference match-up. Next Tuesday they travel to Rosewood.
